Clos de Chacras received silver medals from the International Wine Challenge for two of its wines

The boutique winery acquired this award for Eredità Malbec 2014 and Eredità Cabernet Sauvignon 2014.

The International Wine Challenge is one of the most prestigious and meticulously judged wine competition which assesses every wine blind and judges each for its faithfulness to style, region and vintage. The IWC announced the winners of the first tranche a few days ago and Eredità was highly praised for its complexity and quality.

Eredità Malbec 2014 is a Terroir Blend‑ Malbec that achieves a rich aromatic complexity. The grapes from Uco Valley combine both spicy and sour red fruits notes, whereas floral notes are added through the grapes from Luján de Cuyo. A deep dark red with classic Malbec violet hues to the eye and smooth hints of vanilla, tobacco and white chocolate, due to the aging process in oak. This is a Malbec with smooth and ripe tannins and great structure.

Eredità Cabernet Sauvignon 2014 has deep red color and violet hues that show a very slow and balanced aging process, aiming to enhance the wine best characteristics. Classic Cabernet sauvignon notes on the palate, mostly red peppers and black pepper. Other aromas gradually unfold; ripe red fruits and chocolate, tobacco and smoke. A rich and lush palate for a full bodied and easy drinking wine. It is balanced and complex with a long and juicy finish.
